What does hourly or as-directed hire mean?
Hourly chauffeur hire reserves a vehicle and chauffeur for an agreed booking period rather than just one pickup and destination. Your plan can include driving, appointments and waiting between agreed stops. “As-directed” describes an itinerary guided by your requirements within the time, area and conditions confirmed in your booking.
For example, you might leave a Southbank hotel, attend a Collins Street meeting, visit an office in Richmond and finish at a restaurant. Sharing the appointment times and likely waiting periods helps us allow for the whole journey. Changes on the day can be discussed, but extra time, distance, access costs and availability must be checked before extending the plan.
Hourly hire
Useful for several appointments or stops when you need the vehicle and chauffeur reserved for a defined window. Include driving and waiting time in your request.
Half-day or full-day
Suitable for a longer business itinerary, visiting guests or private sightseeing. Agree the start, finish, route and duration rather than assuming a “day” means unlimited hours.
Point-to-point transfer
Often the simpler arrangement for one pickup and destination. A later return can be booked separately when you do not need a chauffeur retained between journeys.

Your price depends on the vehicle, date, pickup location, duration and itinerary. Regional driving, major events, late finishes and multiple vehicles can change the arrangement. We quote your actual plans rather than publish a starting price that may not suit your journey.
Time and vehicle
Confirm the vehicle category, minimum booked hours, when chargeable time starts and finishes, and whether the planned waiting periods sit inside the hire window.
Route and inclusions
Review GST, tolls, parking, any distance allowance and travel outside the agreed area. For airport or venue pickups, confirm access arrangements and applicable charges.
Changes and extra time
Ask how overtime is charged and whether an extension is available. Confirm any revised price before continuing beyond the booked hours or changing the agreed itinerary.
Hourly waiting and a transfer’s complimentary pickup allowance are different arrangements. Do not assume that the free waiting offered on a point-to-point transfer extends an hourly booking. Your quotation should make the applicable time and charging basis clear.

For family journeys, baby and child seats must be requested in advance. Baby seats cost A$15 each; the first baby seat is free only with a Mercedes V-Class booking, with additional seats at A$15 each.

What is the minimum hire period?
The minimum hire duration is confirmed with your quotation and can depend on the vehicle and itinerary. The 3-hour metropolitan advance-booking requirement is notice before pickup, not a published 3-hour minimum hire.
Does the chauffeur wait between my stops?
Hourly hire is arranged for an agreed period that can include waiting between stops. Confirm the waiting plan and pickup points in the quote. Where stopping at the entrance is restricted, agree a suitable nearby collection point.
Can I change the route or add another stop?
Discuss changes with the chauffeur or booking team as early as possible. They must fit the agreed time, area and vehicle availability. Extra driving, parking or time may require a revised charge.
Can I extend the booking on the day?
An extension is subject to availability and agreed extra-time charges. A later booking may limit how long the vehicle can remain available, so include a realistic finish time when enquiring.
Are tolls, parking and GST included?
Check the inclusions in your written quotation. Ask about tolls, parking, GST, distance limits and venue or airport charges before confirming. Do not assume every cost is covered by the hourly component.
Can I book a half-day or full-day chauffeur?
Yes, these arrangements can be requested. Provide start and finish times and the planned route so the booked duration is explicit. Full-day hire is not automatically an unlimited-time or unlimited-distance service.
Is hourly hire better than booking separate transfers?
It depends on your schedule. Hourly hire can suit a day with several stops and planned waiting. Separate point-to-point or return transfers may suit fixed journeys when you do not need the vehicle retained in between.
